Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to open an IBM Rational Performance Tester workspace result in an error in the workspace log Failed to create a thread: ... , errno 12.
Symptom
An example of the error message is as follows.

!MESSAGE Application error

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Failed to create a thread: retVal -1073741830, errno 12.
You can load other workspaces on the same computer. When you shutdown Rational Performance Tester, stop any Java processes and reboot, the workspace will not load each time.
If you load another workspace, you cannot swith to the workspace of interest.
The workspace size is about 10 Gb.
Cause
The workspace is corrupt or due to the size of the workspace, Eclispe cannot open the workspace.
Resolving The Problem
You have two options.
- Make your existing workspace smaller.
- Work with a new workspace.
- Make a new workspace.
- Export your project with dependencies from the old workspace into an archive file,
- Import the exported projects into the new workspace.
