Error description

  • Crossed-protect servers are defined as the two servers
protecting one another using PROTECT STGPOOL command. Using this
configuration, the container storage pools on both servers may
have orphaned chunks, causing the storage pool space utilization
     to increase gradually.

This problem has been fixed in IBM Spectrum Protect 7.1.7 or
later. There will be no additional orphaned chunks created after
applying 7.1.7 or later, but the existing orphaned chunks will
need to be removed. See the local fix section for additional
    details.

    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
IBM Spectrum Protect 7.1.3 and later

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable)
The following DB2 SQL can be used to determine if there are
orphaned chunks (can be run from both servers):
    db2 select poolname,poolid from ss_pools
db2 "select sum(cast(length as bigint)) as sum, count as count
from sd_chunk_locations cl where cl.poolid=<poolid> and
    (cl.chunkid, cl.poolid) in (select sdcl.chunkid, sdcl.poolid
    from sd_chunk_locations sdcl where refcount=1 and sdcl.chunkid
not in (select sdro.chunkid from sd_recon_order sdro) and
sdcl.chunkid not in (select sdrc.chunkid from
sd_replicated_chunks sdrc) and sdcl.chunkid not in (select
sdru.chunkid from sd_refcount_updates sdru) ) for read only with
    ur"

Replace <poolid> with the container storage pool id.
If the count returned is greater than 0, there are orphaned
    chunks in the storage pool.
Note: The SQL provided is a generic query to detect orphaned
chunks on the server and not necessarily applied to this APAR
only. There are other issues that can cause orphaned chunks on
the target server. You must be using the crossed-protect
environment for this APAR to apply.
    Initial Impact:
    Medium
