IT16058: 'FUNDAMENTAL LINK' NOT FOUND FROM THE SYSTEM MONITORING SHARED SERVICES INSTANCE CONSOLE MAINTENANCE PAGE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customers are reporting there is no 'Fundamental Link' option
    from the System Monitoring Shared Services Instances Console
    > Operations tab to apply maintenance fixes.
    
    After uploading fix the customer is following the steps
    outlined in applying emergency fix and based on the procedures
    when we get to step 5 after selecting Maintenance we are unable
    to find fundamental link.
    
    Partial procedure steps used:
    1. Click Patterns and select Shared Services from the Instances
       column.
    2. Expand System Monitoring <version> and select the System
       Monitoring shared service instance.
    3. Click Manage.
    4. Click the Operations tab.
    5. Select Maintenance.
    6. Expand Fundamental, and then expand Maintenance Fixes.
    7. Select Apply more, and select Resign_ITM_JARS.
    8. Click Submit.
    9. Wait for the Maintenance operation to complete:
    

Local fix

  • This issue only occurs in Internet Explorer version 8 of the
    Internet Explorer (IE) browsers, but not in IE version 9 and
    above, Firefox or Chrome browsers.
    
    If customers are using IE9 or above, then they need to make
    sure "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" is disabled
    (IE -> Tools -> Compatibility View Settings -> uncheck "Display
    intranet sites in Compatibility View" -> refresh) . This will
    not be needed in future version, but may help resolve the
    problem.
    

Problem summary

  • There was a problem in the console code that caused an
    issue in Internet Explorer 8.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System
    version 2.2.2.0.
