Error description

  • The IBM OS Pattern Kit user created two Windows images. One
based on Windows 2008 and one based on Windows 2012. He then
used the Windows 2012 based image in a virtual system pattern.
After clicking 'Save', and opening the pattern again, the
Windows 2008 image had been used.

The same issue occurs with images based on the Red Hat
Enterprise Linux operating system. If multiple Linux images are
available in the IBM OS Pattern Kit, using one of them in a
virtual system pattern does not guarantee that the correct image
    is saved in the pattern.

Local fix

  • The user is able to force the use of the correct image by
    deleting the other versions.

Problem summary

  • There was a problem in the code identifying an exact
match for the images being used in the pattern.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is included in the IBM OS Pattern Kit version
2.2.0.0 being released with PureApplication System version
    2.2.0.0.
