IT11885: MOUNT FOR RESTORE FAILS WHEN DUPLICATE VOLUME GROUP NAMES ARE USED.

APAR status

Error description

  • Attempts to mount backed up virtual machine disks for restore
    using the Virtual Environment GUI fails when the same volume
    group (VG) name exists on the mount proxy and VM.  No errors are
    reported to the user and the mount is reported as successful.
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    Collect a SERVICE trace on the Linux Mount Proxy server.  The
    following will be reported:

Local fix

  • Temporarily rename the VG on the Linux Mount Proxy server so the
    VG names no longer match.
