Error description

  • We have observed file I/O overhead with SI/SFG when using
a mounted document storage filesystem. A significant
amount of time is spent on native unix I/O operations (within
the getCanonicalPath() method) that could potentially be
eliminated by either caching or using other methods. (eg.
getAbsolutePath).
The particular code affected is in:
com.sterlingcommerce.woodstock.workflow.BaseDocument,
and the method is getNewOutputFile().

and Sterling File Gateway with regard to time spent on I/O
operations.

  • Resolution Summary:
The paramter getAbsolutePath has been added to
jdbc.properties.in.
By default it is set to false. By setting it to true the user
enables IBM Sterling B2B Integrator to use the Java
getAbsolutePath method instead of getCanonicalPath when creating
documents under FS storage. This improves performance.
