Error description

  • Restore of select components to PureApplication system fails
    with error messages:

CWZIP9569E One or more [scriptpackage] artifacts failed to
backup or restore. Examine log for more details.
    Failure: CWZIP1900E An internal error

CWZIP9535E An error occurred while transferring <path>/<file>
from the backup location to <path>/<file>

Failure: java.io.IOException: scp failed with return code=1
exec request failed on channel 0

CTGRI0026E A connection could not be completed to
    <backup-location-ip-address> during the specified
timeout interval. occurred. For details, see the log/trace
    files.

CTGRI0001E The application could not establish a connection to
    <backup-location-ip-address>

The restore steps that can lead to this failure include:
    - Select System Console > System > Backup and Restore
    - Select the restore location in the second (bottom) table
    - Drill into the component type of the artifact you want to
    restore:
          Example:
Component Restore > Workload > Virtual System Patterns
    - Change drop-down to Only new or changed
Table view will then show only the patterns that are
missing on the PureApplication System that is the target
           for the restore
    - Select one, and click Restore

You can optionally watch System Console > System > Jobs to
watch restore progress. The error messages above can be found
in the job associated with the restore.

Local fix

  • Select a fewer number of components to restore. Restoring a
smaller amount will sometimes avoid connection errors with the
    backup location.

Problem summary

  • An SSH remote execution access (RXA) connection leak between the
PureApplication System and the remote Backup server was causing
    the restore problem to occur.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been updated in PureApplication System version
2.0.0.1 interim fix 2 and higher to reuse connections and ensure
    connection closure.

Temporary fix
