IT03860: INCORRECTLY CLOSED SOCKET NETWORK CONNECTIONS WITH 25580 ERRORS DUE TO ERROR HANDLING CODE IN SENDSOCKET()

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In the case of network congestion and the send() call returning
  a failure with errno set to EWOULDBLOCK or EAGAIN, when
  sendsocket is working correctly, this is non-fatal and the
  server would just retry the send.  However, due to the problem,
  this retry code can get skipped and rather then retrying in this
  non-fatal case, sendsocket() can return FUNCFAIL and cause a
  25580 error to be reported but the errno reported will be
  incorrect and likely not make sense.
  
  Example MSGPATH output where this error is occurring with CDR
  threads:
  
  20:34:20  CDR NIF ASF SEND failed asfcode -25580 oserr 0
  
  So you can see error 25580 is reported but oserr (which should
  be errno) is set to 0.
