APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Specifying a dot (.) as a SECTION name in the configuresystem
  command is not allowed.
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  Install TEMS/TEPS/TEP 630 FP2 on Linux
  Install MQ 071001000 Agent on Linux endpoint
  Create MQ Instance named AM1A.CM12A
  Using TEP, configure the Instance using default values.
  
  After the Agent is configured with its default values, modify
  the MQ Agent configuration using command-line command.
  
  tacmd configureSystem -m AM1A.CM12A::MQ
  EVENTQIN:AM1A.CM12A.PERFMQ=SYSTEM.ADMIN.PERFM.EVENT
  
  Observe that the following error reported to the user:
  
  Error Message  : KDY0015E: The property EVENTQIN:AM1A is
  incorrect for version 071001000 of the MQ agent. The property
  name is not valid.
  

Local fix

• Configure the Agent using the TEP, which allows for the
  specification of a SECTION to include the dot (.) character.
  

Problem summary

• The configuresystem command does not allow for dot (.)
  characters to be included when specifying a property value for
  an agent.
  
  
  If one specifies the dot (.) character in a SECTION name when
  using the CLI command configuresystem, the user is returned an
  error reporting an error that the property value is not valid.
  

Problem conclusion

• Revised the parser function to accept the character as valid
  when used in a property value.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:

Temporary fix

• Configure the agent using the Tivoli Enterprise Portal which
  allows for the specification of a SECTION to include the dot (.)
   character.
