APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Support Connectionless mode for autonomous agent.
  
  Connection_less mode is currently not supported for lifecycle
  events and for events sent in autonomous mode.   This APAR will
  add this support.
  
  This is to also address RFE 53795 - Creating an
  option to configure autonomous OS agents as EIF connection-less
  instead of a persistent connection.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Support connection-less mode for autonomous agents.
  
  
  Agents in autonomous mode can only send events via EIF using
  connection oriented mode.
  
  In order for this APAR to be properly implemented in your
  environment, a new parameter is supported in the
  <pc>_eventdest.xml file. See the "Install Actions" section of
  the APAR conclusion for more details.
  

Problem conclusion

• Support has been added to the EIF configuration file
  <pc>_eventdest.xml to make the connectionMode user configurable.
  
  Install Actions:
  When editing the <pc>_eventdest.xml file, a new option
  "connection_type" can now be specified with "CO"
  (connection-oriented, the default) or "CL" (connection-less).
  This is added to the <Destination> section, for example:
  
  <EventDest>
   <Destination  id="0" type="M" master_reset="Y" stat="Y"
      default="Y" connection_type="CL">
    <Server location="server1" port="0" />
   </Destination>
  </EventDest>
