Local fix

  • -Xjit:exclude={*_thunkArchetype_*} would prevent the error,
though at the expense of a massive degradation in performance.

Problem summary

  • The JIT compiler attempted to compile a MethodHandle as though
it were an ordinary Java method.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   7    SR7       (7.0.7.0)
   7 R1 SR1       (7.1.1.0)
.
The JIT control logic has been fixed to prevent this from
occurring.
