Failed to load native library: fcl error adding data source in IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer

Troubleshooting


Problem

Using DB2Connector to connect to DB2 data source fails. CAS log contains: ISF-CAS-HANDLER 150017 2011-11-07 15:20:48,404 Fatal Failed to load native library: fcl (JVMPORT015E Unable to resolve shared library references - a prerequisite shared library may be missing)

Cause

Missing /DSComponents/bin and DSEngine/bin references in PATH

Resolving The Problem

For Windows platforms, manually add C:\IBM\InformationServer\Server\DSComponents\bin and C:\IBM\InformationServer\Server\DSEngine\bin references in the PATH

For Unix/Linux, add /opt/IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSComponents/bin and /opt/IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSEngine/bin references in the PATH in the dsenv, and then restart DataStage.
