Error description

• In some Linux kernels, the target is unable to report the
  computer manufacturer, model and serial number. The target is
  also reporting a BIOS UUID containing all zeroes. Target reports
  on the TRC server have blanks for these columns and the data is
  missing from the System Information function as well.

  Problem description
  
  In some Linux kernels, the target is unable to report the
  computer manufacturer, model and serial number. The target is
  also reporting a BIOS UUID containing all zeroes. Target reports
  on the TRC server have blanks for these columns and the data is
  missing from the System Information function as well.
  
  Problem summary
  
  This problem can have different causes related to reading the
  SMBIOS table from physical memory. On some Linux kernels,
  accessing the physical memory region where the SMBIOS table is
  located using a read system call fails. Accessing the same
  memory using the mmap system call works, so the target was
  modified to use mmap, falling back to read if necessary.
  
  On systems where the SMBIOS table is located above address
  0x7FFFFFFF, attempts to read the SMBIOS table failed. This is
  because the address was converted to a 32-bit signed integer
  offset and high addresses are converted to negative offsets. To
  fix the problem, the code was converted to use 64-bit offsets.
  

Problem conclusion

• This fix will be included in 8.2.1-TIV-TEMRC821-IF0002 and
  5.1.2-TIV-TEMRC512-IF0012
