APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Apply tag takes too long time. The customer would like to
    improve the performance.
    
    I can recreate the problem in the following L2 test
    environment.
    
    Maximo Asset Management 7.5.0.1
    Tivoli's process automation engine 7.5.0.1
    Maximo for Nuclear Power 7.5.0.1
    
    STEPS TO RECREATE:
    1) From "Go To"-"Assets"-"Locations(Nuc)", create new
    locations LOC001 as follows.
    
    Location : LOC001
    Description : Location 001
    Type : Operating
    
    2) Move to "Positions" tab, click "New Row" in "Positions"
    section and add the following entries.
    
    Position    IV Reqd - Application      IV Reqd - Restoration
    LC          unchecked                    unchecked
    LO          unchecked                    unchecked
    
    Then save the record.
    
    3) Create other locations like LOC002, LOC003, ... LOC030
    in the same way.
    
    4) From "Go To"-"Operational Management(Nuc)"-"Clearance
    (Nuc)",click "New Clearance" button.Then specify the
    following values.
    
    Clearance : TEST
    Description : TEST
    
    Then save the record.
    
    5) Move to "Application" tab, click "New Row" in "Tag
    Application" section and specify the following values.
    
    Application Sequence # : 1
    Tag ID : 1001
    Tagged Location : LOC001
    Application Position : LC
    Tag Type : Danger
    
    6) Register the other locations LOC002, LOC003, ...
    LOC030 in the same way.
    
    7) From "Select Action" menu, select "TO Approval"-
    "Approval Application". On "Change Status" window,
    select "Waiting for Approval" and click OK.
    
    8) From "Select Action" menu, select "SRO Approvals"-
    "Approval Application". On "Change Status" window,
    select "Approved" and click OK.
    
    9) From "Select Action" menu, select "Tag Data"-"Apply
    Tags".
    
    10) Verify it takes about 80 seconds to display "Apply
    Tags" window.
    
    11) On "Apply Tags" window, click "Apply Default Data"
    button.
    
    12) Verify it takes about 50 seconds to apply default data.
    
    13) Click "Next Page" button to display the next record
    (21 - 30 of 30).
    
    14) Verify it takes about 30 seconds to display the next
    records.
    
    To sum up, "Apply Tags" takes about 80 seconds in step 10),
    "Apply Default Data" takes about 50 seconds in step 12), and
    "Next Page" takes about 30 seconds in step 14).
    
    This is the problem.
