Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter who have Activation Specifications which connect to a z/OS Queue Sharing Group. This includes users of: - The WebSphere MQ V7.0 and V7.1 Resource Adapter. - The WebSphere Application Server V7 WebSphere MQ messaging provider. - The WebSphere Application Server V8 WebSphere MQ messaging provider. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java +Java zOS **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: The WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter records the unique identifier of the queue manager it has connected to, and upon reconnection the identifier is checked to ensure the same queue manager has been reconnected to. For z/OS queue sharing groups, it is possible that upon reconnection a different queue manager from the group is connected to, which results in an error is reported - despite this being a valid reconnection.
Problem conclusion
The WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter has been updated to allow it to reconnect to a different queue manager when a queue sharing group is being connected to. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.9 -------- -------------------- Windows U200337 AIX U849391 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U849723 HP-UX (Itanium) U849728 Solaris (SPARC) U849724 Solaris (x86-64) U849730 iSeries 7.0.1.9 Linux (x86) U849725 Linux (x86-64) U849729 Linux (zSeries) U849726 Linux (Power) U849727 zOS 7.0.1.9 v7.1 Platform Fix Pack 7.1.0.2 -------- -------------------- Windows 7.1.0.2 AIX 7.1.0.2 HP-UX (Itanium) 7.1.0.2 Solaris (SPARC) 7.1.0.2 Solaris (x86-64) 7.1.0.2 iSeries 7.1.0.2 Linux (x86) 7.1.0.2 Linux (x86-64) 7.1.0.2 Linux (zSeries) 7.1.0.2 Linux (Power) 7.1.0.2 zOS 7.1.0.2 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
