  • Error Message: A java.lang.ClassFormatError is received when the
    class name or method name contains the special characters such
    as '{', '}', '='
    .
    Stack Trace: java.lang.ClassFormatError: JVMCFRE002 method name
    is invalid
      at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:275)
    .
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by a class name and method name check
    which follows the old JVM specifications which disallows the
    special characters such as '{', '}' and '='.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR10
    6.0.1 SR1
    7.0.0 SR1
    .
    The JVM has been updated to follow the most recent JVM
    specifications which allow the special characters in the class
    name and method name.
