IV06940: SEND SUBSCRIPTIONS TO A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS FAILS WHEN A SUBSCRIPTION WITH BLANK EMAIL ADDRESS EXISTS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• WSRR fails to send a subscription fo a valid email address when
  there is an existing subscription with a blank email address.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• It is possible to create a subscription with a blank e-mail
  destination address. If one of these subscriptions exists,
  e-mail notifications are no longer sent for other subscriptions
  where a valid e-mail address does exist.
  

Problem conclusion

• Subscriptions with blank e-mail destination addresses were
  processed as if they were valid. This caused the SMTP connection
  to error and as the WSRR code did not reset it, no further
  e-mails are sent.
  
  The e-mail notification code has now been updated to ignore
  subscriptions with blank e-mail destination addresses, no longer
  attempt to send an e-mail unless there are one or more valid
  addresses and will now reset the SMTP conncetion if an error
  occurs before trying to send the next e-mail.
  
  This fix is targeted for inclusion in fix pack 5 for WSRR v6.3,
  fix pack 5 for WSRR v7.0 and fix pack 2 for WSRR v7.5.
