APAR status

  • Closed as documentation error.

Error description

  • Tivoli Access Manager Java Runtime ( PDJRTE) ships a number of
jar files. When you unconf and reconfig pdjrte it places the
old ibmjceprovider.jar and ibmjcefw.jar in the ﾽTAMHOME/java/exp
ort/pdjrte. The files places in this directory cause TAM to fail
as the files had expired on the 18th May 2006 22:59 BST. If
you place the latest JCE files in place and reconfigure, the
configuration process will over write the valid jce files.

Local fix

  • Locate the correct JCE file set. Perform the pdjrte config
and then place the ibmjceprovider.jar and ibmjcefw.jar into
the TAM directory.

Problem summary

  • IBM's JCE digital certificate that we used to s
ign the JCE jar file expired on May 18, 2006 after which IBM JCE
 will no longer function.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR is expected to be cont
ained in the following maintenance delivery vehicles:
