Error description

  • Error Message: A SIGSEGV is received in module libj9jit28.so.

Stack Trace: Java stack might contain methods
- com/ibm/crypto/provider/AbstractBufferingCipher.engineUpdate
- com/ibm/crypto/provider/AbstractBufferingCipher.engineDoFinal
Native stack might contain DREMAINDER_4
.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • The problem can occur when AES acceleration is used
(Acceleration is only available on processors with AESNI feature
set). The problem only affects x86-64 platform (including Linux
and Windows).

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The JVM has been updated to prevent reading unneeded memory
.
This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR3       (8.0.3.0)
