  When Communications Server is configured as part of a Connection
  Network and is unable to resolve the local system's hostname,
  it includes a NULL hostname on the CV X'A5' it includes in the
  LOCATE reply.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED: All using EE links with Connection Networks
  
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The NULL hostname is indicated by setting the "hostname
  included" bit (byte 3, bit 4 of the CV X'A5') then setting the
  hostname length field
  to 0.
  
  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  VTAM occasionally has a problem with this NULL hostname, and so
  does not proceed with session establishment in that case.
  
  Architecture specifies that the hostname field is "one or more
  ASCII characters", so a NULL hostname is invalid.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been modified to clear (set to 0) the "hostname
  included" bit when the local system's hostname cannot be
  resolved.
