APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Select Time Span for Query' becomes unavailable for KRV
    application
    workspace view.
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    The History function does not work properly in the CBTI BKUPEND
    Eve
    workspace. History data may or may not be returned depending on
    the
    sequence of options selected when using the 'Specify Time Span
    for
    Query' window.
    1. Click the 'Specify Time Span for Query' icon to display the
    options
    window.
    2. Selecting 'Last 25 Hours', 'Use Detailed Data - Recording
    Time'
    returns nothing and the 'Select Time Span for Query' icon
    becomes
    greyed out.
    

Local fix

  • Select another workspace from the workspace navigator and then
    reselect
    the krv workspace where the timespan icon was greyed out.
    

Problem summary

  • The KRV application workspace view timespan button disables. In
    the CBTI BKUPEND workspace event view, the historical time span
    dialog does not re-enable after selecting and setting historical
     query options.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The underlying exception was an index out of bounds exception.
    A for loop against an array holding the column attributes was
    exceeding the size of the array.  Added code to guard against
    the exception.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:

Temporary fix

  • Step off the current Tivoli Portal workspace by choosing some
    other workspace, them again choose the CBTI BKUPEND workspace,
    the historical time span dialog button will be selectable once
    again.
