Error description

  • When creating a new TEP user that uses LDAP to determine the
    distinguished name (DN), if the DN contains any single quote
    marks, the newly created user does not contain the correct DN.
    The new user cannot log in. If the TEPS is restarted, the DN
    will be from the defaultWIMITMBasedRealm. This only occurs if
    the TEPS is using Microsoft SQL Server as the TEPS database.
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Create a new user, select a DN containing a single quote, click
    OK and attempt to save the user. The DN field will be blank.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Failed to create portal client user when distinguished name
    contains a single quote mark.
    
    
    When creating a new Tivoli Enterprise Portal user that uses LDAP
    to determine the distinguished name (DN), if the DN contains any
    single quote marks, the newly created user does not contain the
    correct DN.  The new user cannot log in.  If the portal server
    is restarted, the DN will be from the defaultWIMITMBasedRealm.
    This only occurs if the portal server is using Microsoft SQL
    Server as the database.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Added code to escape single quote marks in the distinguished
    name value when creating the SQL INSERT statement.
