What is the allow.effective.uid initparm? (SCI96164)

Answer

The initparm allow.effective.uid will allow or disallow a user from executing direct based on the suid bit setting.? If the setuid is not set, direct has permissions of r-xr-xr-x and the parameter has no effect.



If you have set the permissions to r-sr-s-r-x and have the allow.effective.uid set to N, only the owner of direct will be able to execute it.? If allow.effective.uid is set to Y, the user executing direct will do so under the credentials of the owner.
