Error description
Conversion Factor field is not functioning in Desktop Requisitions. Steps to replicate in 7.1.1.5: Log in to maxdemo instance as Wilson Verify that item 0-0031 has a conversion Factor set up: Go to Inventory | Inventory In the Item field enter 0-0031 and press Enter Click on the record for 0-0031 to open it Select Action | Unit of Measure and Conversion | Add/Modify Conversions verify or create a Conversion Factor with values: From Unit of Measure = BOX To Unit of Measure = EACH Conversion Factor = 24 Item number = 0-0031 Click OK Go to Self Service | Desktop Requisitions | Create Requisition Click Continue Click on New Row In the Item field enter 0-0031 and tab out The Order Unit will populate with "EACH" Enter 2 in the Quantity field and tab out The Conversion Factor does not populate as expected, nor does a default value get populated Online Help states: "If you have specified an order unit in the Order Unit field, Maximo enters the corresponding conversion value in this field. If you have not specified an order unit, Maximo sets the sets the conversion factor to 1.00, indicating that the order unit is the same as the issue unit." Neither of these statements appear to be accurate. If an Order Unit is populated when the Item is selected, the Conversion Factor does not populate. If there is a Conversion Factor set up for an item, and the item is selected, the expected Conversion Factor does not populate. (no Conversion Factor populates)

Problem conclusion
<After several discussions, the product designer decided that we should modify the online help regarding "Conversion" in Desk Top Requisition because the Conversion field in Desktop Req is not referenced anywhere. I provided the following paragraph for the tech writers to review. The conversion field in desktop requisition is not referenced by other functional areas. It does not have the same behavior as it does in Purchase Orders or Purchase Requisitions. If the desktop requisition is for a storeroom reservation, conversion does not get copied over to the reservation record. If the desktop requisition is for a direct issue and Reorder is run, the conversion is 1 because no storeroom involved to compare issue unit and order unit. I also communicated with the L2 support person who also communicated with the client who observed the descrepancies between the on-line help and the actual behavior.> The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance package: | release\fix pack | REL 7.1.1.7 - BS
