Problem summary


    

  • Current implementation of J9 socket operations has a limitation
on the filedescriptor id being passed to VM. J9 Socket select()
operation on fd > 1024 is prone to return incorrect value.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR8
.
  JVM is fixed to handle the socket descriptor ids > 1024.
  This issue is specific to all Linux operating systems.

To obtain the fix:
Install build 20100129 or later
