  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When installing WebSphere Service Registry and Repository
(WSRR) v7.0, you see the following error:

This package cannot be installed because the user does not have
administrator rights or Installation Manager was installed for
non-administrator use. Check for other versions to install or
use the Installation Manager installed for administrator use.

Local fix

  • Install WSRR 7.0 using root authority.

Problem summary

  • The installation manager settings for WSRR were incorrectly set
to allow install only by the root user in unix environments.
This has been corrected.

Problem conclusion

  • Install WSRR from the supplied package (this includes a full
install)  if you wish to install as non-root user.
