Error Message: A GPF/SIGSEGV is raised in compiled Java code due to the use of an incorrectly computed long value. . Stack Trace: N/A . Besides crashing, the affected application can also fail in other ways, e.g. producing incorrect output.
Local fix
This issue can be avoided by excluding the affected Java method with the -Xjit:exclude={class.method*} option.
Problem summary
The problem occurs when the compiled code converts a negative int value into a long value, and treats the value as if it was positive. This is caused by a bug in the JIT compiler which initializes certain internal flags to wrong values, leading the compiler to assume that the int variable will be positive.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 5.0.0 SR12 6.0.0 SR7 . The JIT compiler has been updated to correct the problem. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20091127 or later
