Error description
Error Message: A GPF/SIGSEGV is received when a compiled Java method is executed that contains loops (or calls to methods containing loops). The method is likely to be hot (frequently executed) and heavily optimized. The direct cause of the crash is an attempt to dereference a pointer that has been loaded from a stack slot that was not initialized. . Stack Trace: N/A .
Local fix
The issue can be avoided with the -Xjit:disableLoopVersioner option. However, this can cause significant (2% to 10%) impact on performance.
Problem summary
The JIT compiler contained a loop optimization bug which could lose variable updates in a loop in the generated code.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 5.0.0 SR11 . The JIT compiler has been modified to correct the problem. . To obtain the fix: Install build 20090928 or later
