Error description

  • This APAR has been opened to address a fault in the compiler
    used to build DB2 V9.5.
The compiler fault results in incorrect Itanium speculative load
    recovery code being generated.

When the problem is encountered DB2 will crash and generate a
trap file clearly indicating a NaT consumption fault:

    Signal #4 (SIGILL): si_addr is 0xC000000014E21171, si_code is
    0x00000009 (ILL_REGNAT:Register NaT Consumption)

The stack in the trap file will contain the functions:

    ...
    ---- Signal 4 (SIGILL) delivered ----
    _ZN11XmlrnWriter12startElementEjjjPK16XmlrpElementPSVI
    _ZN27XmlrnDocumentHandlerVisitor9enterNodeEP19XmlrnNodeDescripto
    rRt/libdb2e.so]
    _ZN18XmlrnVisitorDriver21visitSubtreeNoRedriveEP12XmlrnVisitorRt
    ...

Later releases of DB2 are not affected by this problem as a
    newer compiler is used.
