Error description
The IBM BPM deployment environment was initially created with the bpm.de.db.#.schema properties removed from the configuration properties file that is input to the BPMConfig command. As a result, the database schema names are not recorded in the configuration files in the WebSphere profile. Therefore, when the IBM BPM V8.5.0.2 server tries to read them, a NullPointerException occurs.
Local fix
If the IBM BPM DE was already created without database schema names, add the database schema names manually to each <databaseIinfo> element in the <dmgr_profile>/config/cells/<cellName>/cell-bpm.xml file before starting the server, for example <databaseInfo xmi:id="BPMDatabaseInfo_1455663924519" name="BPMDB" schema="db2admin"/>.
