JR53586: ADD A USER CONFIGURABLE DELAY TO THE IDOC PROCESSING IN THE IDOC LISTENER.

APAR status

Error description

• When too many idocs arrives at the same time, this struggle the
  DataStage engine with dsjob commands launching the target job.
  We need to add a configurable delay in order to contrrol the
  speed of the dsjob requests.
  

Local fix

• Don't use the Listener to trigger job.
  

Problem summary

• Request to introduce a time delay to delay the IDoc job run
  request to IIS server once IDOC_COUNT reaches threshold value
  

Problem conclusion

• Introduced a time delay - will be provided to the IDoc Listener
  using the system environment variable DS_IDOC_EXTRACT_TIME_DELAY
   and its value should be in seconds.
  It can be used to resolve an issue where the IDOC Extract jobs
  are triggered too often by the IDOC Listener (this can happen
  when IDOC_COUNT is set to a low value, e.g. 1). For that
  purpose, the user would need to judiciously set a value greater
  than the time required for a single run of the job.
  The variable should be set on Windows in the system advanced
  properties, while on Unix it can be added to the dsenv DS
  environment script. After setting the variable, restart the IDOC
  listener.
  Fix is available as a patch for version 7.0 and 7.1; will be
  included in the version currently under development (8).
