Error description

  • Hours, minutes and seconds are discarded when bulk loading
Timestamp data in Oracle Connector v9.1.

Local fix

  • setting environment variable CC_DISABLE_BIG_BUFFER_API=1

Problem summary

  • The HH:MM:SS portion of timestamp was being dropped by Oracle
when using the SQLT_DAT format with OCI Direct Path Load (bulk
    loading) in version 9.1.

Problem conclusion

  • Since Oracle will remove hour, minute and second parts if
SQLT_DAT is used, only use Oracle date format (SQLT_DAT) if
the target column is of DATE type. Otherwise use the string
    format.

Temporary fix

  • When using the environment variable
CC_DISABLE_BIG_BUFFER_API=TRUE the HH:MM:SS are written OK.
The environment variable CC_DISABLE_BIG_BUFFER_API is not
    certified for production.
