Error description
Communications Server for Windows --------------------------------- When an LUA (RUI or SLI) program controlling multiple sessions exits or is terminated without closing those sessions cleanly (RUI_TERM or SLI_CLOSE), then the application may fail to exit. The sessions the program controlled are released and can be used by another program. The exiting program does not terminate until the CSWIN node is stopped, and may even cause a crash (blue screen).
Local fix
Problem summary
The cause is in the event wait code in the API; a one second delay is set with the ALTERABLE option enabled. This makes it possible for the event to timeout before the termination response is returned from the node, causing the termination verb to be cleaned up. When the verb later completes, and the node tries to post it back to the prgram, it may not get posted back. Depending on the timing, it may cause a crash.
Problem conclusion
The event wait code has been changed to be an infinite NON-ALTERABLE wait. This forces the cleanup to occur after the verb completes, allowing the termination to complete properly.
