IBM Support

Copy/Paste always overwrites top cell in the variable column instead of copying to the desired cell, sometimes I see only question marks displayed

Troubleshooting

Problem

I am working with IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0.0 on a Client operating system (Windows, Macintosh, or Linux). I have created a new variable in a blank Data Editor window and inserted for example this values in the first five cells of the variable: 1,2,3,4,5 After that I copy the value at record two (2) and paste it on record four (4). However, after pasting the value at record 4 the cell remains '4' whereas the value at record one (1) becomes '2'. So now I have five records with this values 2,2,3,4,5 instead of the desired values 1,2,3,2,5, why is this? Additionally I have noticed that pasting also sometimes results in all cells displaying question marks until I do something that causes the Data Editor to refresh the view.
