JR45546: NOTIFICATION OF JOB STATUS CHANGE AFTER COMPILE IS BEING LOST, RESULTING IN DIRECTOR STATUS VIEW SHOWING INCORRECT STATUS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A failed job, if recompiled in the Designer client, it compiles
  without a problem and the job can be exected. But, before
  executing the job, after the job has been compiled successfully,
  the Director client shows the job status as 'Not Compiled'
  If the job is executed anyway, the status changes to 'Running'.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Job compiled successfully in Designer but still showing as
  Aborted or Not Compiled in Director
  client Status view. Job can be run from Designer.
  When a Job is compiled we call DSRUpdated to add the job to the
  list of things that have changed. The Director
  client periodically reads this list of things that have changed
  and updates their displayed status.
  Server-side trace revealed a bug which resulted in the compile
  failing to add the job to the change list.
  This resulted in the Director showing the incorrect status for
  the job.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed the code that called DSRUpdated at the end of job compile.
