Error description

  • When a job is executed from the DataStage Director the

job runs without error. When the job is run by selecting
File -> "Estimate Resource" in the DataStage Designer,
the job fails with an " Unexpected tokens" error.

The error is due to an issue in parsing of the format arguments
that are supplied in the DataStage Designer Job Properties
    dialog.
This dialog controls the source of the default format arguments.
If the "Project default" check box in the Properties dialog is
    checked,
the project default values are used by the Resource Estimation
    code
and there is no error. If the
checkbox is unchecked, the format arguments in the Job
    Properties dialog are passed
to the Resource Estimation parsing mechanism where the failure
    occurs.

    LOCAL FIX:
The error will not occur if the "Project default" checkbox for
    timestamps is is
checked in the Job Properties dialog in the DataStage Designer.

Local fix

  • The error wont occur if job properties -> timestamp checkbox is
    checked.
