Error description

  • When viewing the attachment details for a product in the
WebSphere Commerce storefront, the descriptions are not always
displayed.  This happens if the Versioning feature is enabled
and an attachment's description is modified after its initial
entry.  The attachment is available but the description is not.

Problem summary


    

  • USERS AFFECTED:

WebSphere Commerce users on V7 FEP3 who are using the
attachments functionality in management center along with the
versioning feature and displaying attachment descriptions in
their store.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Attachment descriptions are not always displayed in the
storefront's product details attachments tab.

BUSINESS IMPACT:
The attachment is displayed correctly but the description of the
attachment is missing.  If the name of the attachment is not
intuitive, then the shopper does not know what the attachment
represents.  They will need to open it to find out.

RECOMMENDATION:

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The catalog entry attachment reference relation was not being
persisted in atchreldsc table after the initial version was
created.  Updates to the description were not being saved
properly, so did not appear in the storefront.

Management Center code was modified to correctly update the
atchreldsc table.
