Error description
When a non-dsadm user makes changes to environment variables using the Administrator, the ownership of the DSParams file is set to that user. This can subsequently result in dsadm not being able to change DSParams.
Local fix
Problem summary
Changes to DSParams are made through BASIC code where WRITE statements are performed on a temporary file which is linked back to the original name. The ownership of the temporary file is set using the dstskup executable on AIX which only allowed dsadm and root to call chown().
Problem conclusion
Modified dstskup to allow non-dsadm user to call chown() when the original file is owned by dsadm and the current user is in the dstage group.
Temporary fix
Add dsadm to non-dsadm user's group so dsadm can still make changes to DSParams. Or change ownership of DSParams back to dsadm/dstage at the UNIX level using chown and chgrp.
