APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A Stored Procedure Plugin job connecting to Oracle database
  fails with "ORA-01480: trailing null missing from STR bind
  value" error message when the input to the VARCHAR2(4000) field
  contains data of exactly 4000 chars. It works when the data is
  less than 4000 characters.
  

Local fix

• Insert a smaller value (up to 3999 chars)

  database, having a varchar2 field and sending exactly 4000
  characters of input data.

  STP Stage connecting to Oracle database and trying to insert
  data
  into a varchar field of size exactly 4000 characters fails with
  the following error message:
  PMR_VARCHAR2_4000..Stored_Procedure: ORA-01480: trailing null
  missing from STR bind value

  Apply APAR: JR35680

Problem conclusion

• Code has been corrected to handle exactly 4000 characters of
  input data for varchar2 field.
