• ABAP job exported from DS SAP R/3 pack 5.1 against non-unicode
  SAP server and imported into DS SAP R/3 6.5 against unicode
  server.  Decimal data is not extract correctly. The output data
  contains *.  For example, *28.38000,0.000.

  Non-unicode ABAP jobs exported from an older Pack version (5.1)
  do not work correctly when imported to 6.5 and migrated to
  unicode SAP servers. Decimal fields are extracted incompletely.

Problem conclusion

• Code fix to update the 5.1 metadata stored within the job,
  adding information about the "display" value (required in
  6.5).
  How to migrate non-Unicode jobs to Unicode:
  1. Import the 7x job in DS 8x
  2. Open the ABAP stage, change the connection to unicode
  3. This step is only required for custom ABAP programs: change
  Generation Method from "Enter Program as Text" to "Build SQL
  Query" (or "Build extraction object" depending on the method
  originally used)
  4. Click Build. When the builder window opens, just click OK to
  close - no other action is needed. Answer "yes" if asked to
  update the column list.
  5. Click Generate Program to generate and upload to SAP
  6. Compile and run the job
