Fit line in scatterplot not avaiable with nominal or ordinal data using chart builder

Problem

It appears that the fix referred to in resolution 64915 is not completely fixed in version 15.0. 1. I created a scatterplot in chart builder with the x axis as a nominal or an ordinal variable. When I go to edit the chart, the elements menu will not let me insert a fit line, yet the properties table will let me create an element as a fit line and I can change the characteristics of that fit line. I saved the resulting chart as a template. When creating another chart using that template, the fit line is not there. If I create the x axis as a scale variable, I can insert a fit line and save it and recall it, but I lose the year/month label that I want for my x axis. Why is this?
