JR31526: ABAP CODE GENERATE ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABAP code generate error in an ABAP stage.
  The length of columns in an ABAP code which ABAP stage generated
  becomes '0'.
  

Local fix

• once drop selected columns from [Select(S)] tag in an ABAP stage
  and re-select the same columns and set a key column in [Order
  By(O)] tag again and then make an ABAP code

  After importing ABAP jobs that extract from nonunicode

Problem conclusion

• Code fix to adjust the column lengths corectly and fix ABAP
  program generation. After applying the patch, the migration
  procedure is:
  How to migrate non-Unicode jobs to Unicode:
  1)Import the ABAP Extract job that gets data from non-Unicode
  system
  2)Open the imported job and the new 65 ABAP stage GUI
  3)Setup the connection and CPIC transfer to point to Unicode
  enabled SAP R/3 System
  4)Clear the program from the "ABAP program" page
  5)Generate the program from the "ABAP program" page
  6)Upload the program
  7)Review the column interface
  8)Compile and run the program
