Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: users using ODBC Connector. **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Metadata import through Connector Import Wizard or from Information Analyzer from a datasource connecting to SQLServer 2005, fails with 'Invalid State' message, when the tables have complex relationships. **************************************************************** RECOMMENDATION: The problem has been fixed. Apply the patch. The fix has been included in the IS 8.1 FP1. Apply the FixPack1 for IS 8.1. ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
MDI fails with the following error when the table has complex relationships like 'foreign keys referencing indexed columns' and 'composite foreign keys referencing indexed colulmns'. 'An exception occurred while trying to receive the response fromthe handler: An exception was received from the handler: Invalid state'.
