Error description

  • If you go into DataStage Administrator and set the IPC timeout
to a value different than the default of 10 seconds once you
exit out and come back into the Administrator and go back to the
tunables tab the timeout is reset to the default of 10
    seconds. Here are the steps:

    - Open the DataStage Administrator
    - On the admin clients project tab, select the required project,
    and press the properties button.
    - Select the "Tunables" tab.
    - Check the "enable row buffer" checkbox.
    - Select the "Inter process" radio button.
    - Increase the timeout (sec) value to say 120.
    - Uncheck the "enable row buffer".
    - The timeout value is still 120.
    - Press OK to get back to the admin clients project tab.
    - Press OK buttons to fully exit the admin client.
    - Open the DataStage Administrator again.
    - On the admin clients project tab, select the required project,
    and press the properties button.
    - Select the "Tunables" tab.
    - The timeout value is reset to 10.

Local fix

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Visiting Administrator->Project->Properties->Tunables and
exiting without changing anything causes the IPCTimeout value
inDSParams to be reset to 10 seconds, overwriting the value
that was there before. This affects the value used in
subsequent job runs and job compilations.
