IZ94802: THE Z-CENTRIC AGENTS DON'T HANDLE THE RC OF ENDED-IN-ERROR SAP JOBS CORRECTLY AND NO ERRORCODE IS PRODUCED WHEN THOS JOBS FAILS

Error description

  • There is an error in the way the z centric agents manage
    the RC of the SAP jobs.
    In case of an abend of a SAP job the TWS z  controller receives
    a RC but, it is = 0 and when running an SAP job on the z-centric
    agent,  a jobid is created for that job but no errorcode when it
    fails.

Problem summary

  • There is an error in the way the z centric
    agents manage the RC of the SAP, DB, WS and JAVA jobs.
    In case of an abend of these kind of jobs, the TWS z controller
    receives a RC but, it is = 0.
    With this apar when an error occurs the following return codes a
    re provided:

    Job Executors Return Code Description:
    ======================================
    Return codes are available only for completed jobs (successfully
    or abended jobs).Each Job Executor defines its own return codes.
    Here is the list of the return codes defined for each Job
    Executor:

    DBJobExecutor:
    --------------
    RC =  0 --> Job successfully completed
      RC = -1 --> SQL Statement executed with an exit code different
    from 1
      RC = -2 --> MSSQL Job Execution Error
      RC = -3 --> SQL Statement NOT executed due an error in the sql
    statement
    ----------------
    JavaJobExecutor:
    ----------------
      RC =  0 --> Job successfully completed
      RC = -1 --> The Java application launched by the job failed
    due an Exception
    
    --------------
    WSJobExecutor:
    --------------
      RC =  0 --> Job successfully completed
      RC = -1 --> The server hostname contained in the Web Service
    URL is unknown.
      RC = -2 --> Web Service invocation error
    Note:
    For a TWS for z/OS known limitation, negative return codes are
    displayed
    with the corresponding positive value.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This apar will be fixed into 8.5.1-TIV-TWS-F
    P0002.
