Troubleshooting
Problem
I have been using the SPSS Logistic Regression procedure, requesting backward elimination of predictors by choosing "Backward:LR" in the Method box. In the "Options: Probability for Stepwise" boxes, I chose .05 for entry and .10 for removal. However, some variables in the final model equation have Sig. values larger than 0.1. Have my variable removal criteria been ignored? I have also seen nonsignificant predictors in the final step when requesting "Backward: Conditional" in the method box.
