Sentinel Driver does not work with USB hardware key

Troubleshooting

Problem

I am trying to use Sample Power 2.0 with a USB hardware key and receive the message: "The Program has not been able to locate a valid license" Sample Power seems to work fine with a parallel hardware key. Will it work with a USB hardware key?

Resolving The Problem

The Sentinel System driver which ships on the Sample Power 2.0 installation CD-ROM is release 5.30. This release was current at the time the product was released and was intended for use on Windows 95, 98, ME, and Windows NT 4 Service Pack 6. This driver was intended for use with hardware keys using the parallel port and has no support for USB hardware keys.

A later release of this driver was shipped with the SPSS 15.0 for Windows product. In this release ( version 5.41.1) there exists support for both parallel and USB hardware keys.

Please raise a Service Request through the IBM SPSS Technical Support website here if you need to use a USB hardware key with Sample Power 2.0.
