A statistical test for the presence of heteroscedasticity

Troubleshooting


Problem

I know that assumption of homoscedasticity in regression can be evaluated through visual inspection of residual plots, as discussed in the SPSS Base Applications Guide. Is there a statistical test that I can run to assess the validity of this assumption?
