IBM InfoSphere Information Server 8.5: StageType object(s) could not be found for connection type ODBCConnector, or other Common Connectors

Problem

There is an issue on IBM Information Server 8.5 with Common Connectors (CC) whereby you will not be able to 1. Browse data using any CC. 2. Use Test button to validate connection details for CC Both of the above would report errors of 'StageType object(s) could not be found for connection type XXXXConnector (for example ODBCConnector) 3. Not able to import Metadata - due to getting a blank CC listing.

Symptom

1. Browse data using any CC.
