LO39383: 'NETWORK OPERATION DID NOT COMPLETE IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TI ME' FOR LIVE ADMIN CONSOLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is experiencing issue documented in technote 1198456.
  When they try
  to issue commands from the remote live console they receive
  error
  "Network operation did not complete in a reasonable amount of
  time".
  
  The server doesn't crash, they are just unable to issue commands
  at the
  console.  Customer has taken a few NSD while server in this
  state in hopes for
  us to determine the root cause.  The NSD's are in the SPR
  attachments database.

  The problem statement did not say whether it was remote live
  console or the
  console UI. The code which implements these two different
  mechanisms is
  completely different. Use of the remote live console would
  probably not
  generate that error. Use of the console UI to get the result of
  a single
  command can produce this result.
  
  The cause of the problem is unknown without work by some
  developer.

  I tried to explain this may be difficult for us to gain the root
  cause if this
  is not reproducible.  Customer was still hoping the NSD would
  show something
  which is the reason for the SPR.

• Rebooting Domino clears the problem.
